Bobuilt is looking at the motors I use on a frame designed for more lift. I will let him cover this.
As said, I believe the motors from motion dynamics would do it though.
To build a frame like the one in the video, you will need a spring underneath and it was calculated for pressure. Not an off the shelf thing.
Maybe a motorcycle spring/strut could do it and its shorter.
No need for a fuse. JRKS are well protected.
JRK's are 12-15v ONLY.

Now I remember, http://bffsimulation.com/linear-act.php this bloke makes his own actuators with the big worm gear motors. Granted he uses 24v, but the 12v motors from motion dynamics should do near what he gets from them.
Also, his flight sim frame is supported by the motors then selves. If yo put a central spring underneath to support the weight, 12v motors would lift it up and down.
Something else to study up on......

Dunno, I dont really see much that applies to a sim build. What are you hoping to find?

i wasnt sure if reading up on the gears may of been worth it.
im just trying to learn about motors at the moment and what the datasheets all mean (me probably been a noob)

thanks for the reply motiondave

hope someone can help before i start ordering , right im trying to keep the cost down a little so im hoping i can use these 3 of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Rolson-El ... 1e71106865

3 jrks and im hoping to use a drive shaft as the center support ,am i right in thinking this will work
any ideas an which drive shaft would work on ebay.

i was tempted with aldoz design but would rather keep it a bit more simple for my first build
also if you know of any platforms that are built in such a way id love to see a link (im sure i saw one somewhere)

Hi
Have you seen these two builds? Its what I am going to start with.

http://www.*/forum/2dof-si ... t2512.html

and

http://www.*/forum/2dof-wi ... t2405.html

Both those project use wiper motors, as an alternative

you could then use the motor gearbox units on ebay,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110751091855? ... 500wt_1203

thanks terry , i did look at them motors but was hoping the winches would work to save a little on costs
the plan is to build a 3dof similar to aldoz but without haveing to have a custom spring made up.

the 2 videos you posted i have seen before and thanks for resharing them ,although this isnt what i wanted to create and its my fault for not posting 3dof platform in my last message (sorry about that)

thankyou again terry for replying

Have a look at a motorcycle strut and spring. I am guessing they would support about 100kg, so with motors lifting as well, you may be spot on.
A motorcycle spring setup may be less cost . Could be worth looking at.
The 12v winch motors are good, but really , for sim setup, they need help. Aldoz found that out.
Although, then again, prove us wrong!
