Length of pot arms

Postby johnnyfive » Mon 28. Oct 2013, 23:37

Hi.

I've already built a test structure where the motors are mounted and now I'm figuring out the best way to physically connect the feedback pots to the geared output of these motors.

I'm in doubt about what length the arms should have for a 10cm motor arm for maximum pot precision. Any clues?

if you search precision, there are pots with multi-turn (like two) used with gear 2:1
or read viewtopic.php?t=1139

Hi soraz.

My concern is about the length of the arms that connect the motor output to the pot, in order to achieve maximum pot resolution.

An example:

I'll probably have to do some experiments.
