High Current H-bridge

Postby RafBR » Tue 29. Oct 2013, 20:37

Hello,
I am trying to make my own h-bridge for high current DC motors so I started making one motor controller to see how this toys behave.
Here is where I am so far:

are you going to use these starter motors for your next project? :o

Do you have some specs of the h-bridge so far?

I hope so :D

I started to draw it using Design Spark PCB 5.0 software. My knowledge in electronics allows me only to built this circuits and test them to see what happens. So I will use an H-bridge like Thanos DSMHB as template and modify it to handle two mosfets in the place where had one before.
The challenge is to get mosfets working fine in parallel. The h-bridge shall look like a swiss clock or doesnt work.

I'm very interested in this project. Let's play the h-bridge is ready. What mechanical extensions would be needed to the starter motor? I think without gears it cannot hold a simulator. Do you have already idea for that?
These motors are very strong, and cheap as well in the junkyards.
I've built the dsmhb1.2 from the scratch. I really like it, if a part goes wrong I can simply repair it.
