Motion recording

Postby SpaceKaseJase » Mon 21. Sep 2015, 16:56

My son and I have just completed the Thanos Joyrider cockpit and frame. We are looking to motorize it using wiper blade motors (cheapest way). Unlike most simulators, though, we will not be using a pc or lcd monitor. What we have is a smartphone and 3d goggles (a la Google Cardboard). The goal is for my son to sit in the joyrider and have some sort of controller/joystick whereby he could watch a video and move the joyrider according to what he sees. At the same time, these movements will be recorded. When he wants someone to ride it, they just play the video and "play" the movement recording simultaneously so both are in sync. What electronics would we need for this? Any tips on the type of motors to use? This is mainly for roller coaster simulation. Thanks in advance.
