Getting started

Postby MattyB » Fri 21. Dec 2012, 15:22

Hey Guys,
Id like to start off by saying that "I am so new to motion simulators" that Ive already replaced my power supply for two SCN5, when you comment on my silly questions, please note this opening statement!

1. I have followed the video tutorial as mention here - http://www.x-sim.de/software.php?lang=e ... n_training
What I have found is that when I open "SimforceGT" (3D rockinride) i get what appears to be an error (written in a foreign language) that cycles over and over. I very lucky if I can get tsak manager to shut it down...
This said, im not even sure if I need it?

2. I have purchased two "RS485/USB converters" here- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180678760816 ... 1497.l2649

Im just not sure if I have my three wires terminated correctly from the SCN5 to the USB converter block. Black=gnd, white= (A or B) as I have no (+ or -) and then the other would be the opposite. Do I connect the RED to the 5v terminal block or not?

3. After carefully reading the Manual four times, I can get the demo game race07 to pick up in the "Sim Motion Converter" but when I head out on track, I have no motion...

If I can get clarity on the 3 points above this would be great!

Cheers...
Ps (Im happy to donate if I have a working product) :D

Ok, I have found an issue that may resolve my overall problems.
The SCN5 drivers, as found here -http://www.x-sim.de/documents/X-Sim%20Quick%20Guide.pdf are not actualy showing up.
This is resolved by correctly wiring the RS485 interface I believe...
Anyone care to help me work this out, im no sparky and the diagram looks foreign to me!

All steps to get a connection running are placed here:
viewtopic.php?p=256#p256

read all about the debug options and come here again if you have this informatiuons.
Read all the available help!

What I have found is that when I open "SimforceGT" (3D rockinride) i get what appears to be an error (written in a foreign language) that cycles over and over.

Then you have copied the exe file to another location without the subdirectories.
If a answer is correct or did help you for a solution, please use the solve button.

One more thing. I am now having issues logging into the "Extractor", I get to "Cloud Server" and get this error-
"X-Sim data collector has stopped working"

Is this me or a server update?

Ok, now here is what I have thus far...

1. Extractor all set up as per the video tutorial except my "Simforce GT", everytime I run the exe. I get this message- "zugriffsverletzung bei adresse 004A1544 in modul "SimForceGT.exe". Lesen von Adresse 000001e0"

Could this be my issue in the end?

2. Converter- I run the game exe. from the extractor and I have the big flashing "Red Stop, Simulator icon at the top is rocking, Synaptix (next to rocking chair) is showing data moving"

Input Setup- Shows values input from wheel and peddles

Math Setup- shows the data in the graph at the bottom window

Output setup- (USO) looks exactly like that in the manual ie: "Datapacket with axisinformation" = AB~255~~a01~~a02~

Calibration setup- do I need this setting?

Gauge setup- do I need this setting?

Interface settings-
No inputs (removed as per manual) and outputs are three left and right "position out, acceleration, speed output".
Value is 50% however, do I need to press a button?
All found interface plugins have been unchecked except "SCN5Serial" (Double click this to setup as per manual)

Program settings- As per manual however, do I need to do anything with the "Task Processor Afinity List"?

Output Analyzer- I get no output reading in any of these using any/all options within drop down boxes, I reckon this is my issue? Could this be related to issue "1" as explained above? Could this be related to my RS485-USB converter settings/ ports/ output settings?

My Simulator- Actually clocks over as im in game.

Im nearly there, just this one issue to go...please leave feedback if you even think you have a resolve!

If you are getting an error "zugriffsverletzung bei adresse 005fb428 in Modul 'SimforceGT.exe'. Lesen von Adresse 000001E0", when you are trying to open "SimforceGT-Simulation" tool, This is the solution.

You should set the "Regional Format" to "English (Germany)". Then it worked.

1. Type "region settings" in start menu.
2. Then open "Region settings". It will open a new window.
3. There is a dropdown list under "Regional Format" topic.
4. From the dropdown list, select "English (Germany)"
5. That's all.

This worked for me (my operating system is Windows 10).
