PC2 Converter IP Address not showing

Hi all,

After surfing on the forum I still can’t solve my problem, that I will try to describe below with what I have done so far:

I used to run X Sim Converter on a second PC (small and old laptop running Windows XP (!)) using wireless connection and it worked perfectly.
Now the wireless network card (of this second PC) no longer works correctly, often getting disconnected (driver is up to date), and besides, wireless connection has never been reliable as I wish it was.
For these reasons I chose to disconnect wireless and use cabled network last week.

-> Both PC still communicate to each other (checked with ping command and identified Ethernet IP addresses each way), but IP is no longer showing in Converter on second PC.

I tried following SirNoName’s advice in “converter IP Address” topic, going to Network settings to modify parameters, but I can’t find what is adviced to do. I don’t want to go further not really knowing what I am doing / risking to get something even worse.

IP addresses are obtained automatically on both PCs, and second PC IP Adress has been authorized in Extractor “Manage Network Cluster” options.

Although all this is only to get my bass shaker work again, I would be glad if someone could help me or indicate me the topic where the answer might be waiting for me.
I am not a PC/Network expert, but I tend to think there is only a nasty parameter waiting to be changed somewhere (it’s still working when wireless is activated and WiFi card working, therefore I can’t see why cable connection would not work)…

You need latest service packs. Including the latest IE for XP.

Thanks a lot for taking time helping me.

I alerady had XP Service Pack 3. I installed the latest unofficial SP4 and got the latest version of IE this morning. Unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem.

I also tried with another laptop running windows 7 (same OS as my gaming PC) and noted that IP only shows when Windows runs in safe mode, but in that case audio is not working and X Sim tells Bass shaker volume port is missing.

As I reinstalled Windows the supporter key I bought a few years ago is no longer valid, could it be a source of trouble here?

No, the freeware edition does come with all parts.
But you need a network interface to show the IP.
In any case, the IP is only a indicator, X-Sim automacially find a extractor and show a found extractor message. Check your network setup and firewall.

Moving a little bit forward:

IP is still not showing but when I click "Play Game", connection establishes with second PC Converter for a few secons, until Assetto Corsa first logo shows on main PC screen. Then connection stops and I can't check if my buttkicker is working (but game is launching correctly).

To check if this problem is related to the game I tried with Project Cars and Project Cars 2 but for those "X Sim data collector" systematically crashes when I click "Play Game" (however both games launch correctly).

These problems are now a bit different than the one described in topic title. Should I create a new topic to get adequate support (sorry I am new to forums)?

Version of X-Sim?

Installation file is "X-Sim Setup 3.0.2.9 aluminum" but when I go to "About" in Converter Profiles tab I see "X-Sim Converter version 3.0.0".

Isn't it better to try the newest?

I dowloaded it from the Software & Documentation tab last week and chose the X-Sim Software Installer 3.0.2.9 stable, cause 3.0.3.0 unstable seems frightening to me

Should I go for the 3.0.3.0 or did I miss another version somewhere else?
