Use functions from plugin dll

Postby dvioleau » Wed 3. Apr 2013, 15:22

Hello,
I use sim with students and I want to compare data given by the games (F1 2011 or No limits, particularly G-forces) and acceleration measured on my motion simulator (I put accelerometers on the seat). I understand that data from games can be extracted using plugin dll (Dirt2plugin.dll for F1 2011). I would like to know who developped these plugins (did you give it from games developpers ?) and if you can send me a documentation which explained functions contained into these dll. My project will be to write a small program in Python in order to extract data during games and write it into a file. Then I could compare it to my measure.
Thank you in advance if you send me detailled informations about these plugins.

Hi David

I'm not sure how accurate the physics in the Dirt series are. I'd rather recommend using rFactor or rFactor2. There is a very realistic physical model behind and also the (or at least several) cars are very accurately modelled.

You can get the data via rFactor internals plugin here (rFactor) and here (rFactor2).

These dll's are ready to use and will output the telemetry data into a file, which you can compare with your acceleration/gyro data measured on the seat.
Of course you can modify these progs and adopt to the specific needs of yours.
