HELP WITH COMPONENTS

Postby Bruno1968 » Tue 8. Oct 2013, 19:00

Good afternoon everyone,
took time reading the forum and all I find on simulators and choices to make, I have made a decision to build mine but I'm not sure if it is a good choice so appreciate the opinion of someone with experience.
The idea is to get under 3 motors platform to move a 150kg max load including copkit
- Three electric motors 24v 3000rpm (8 A at full load)
- 3 Pololu JRK 12V12
I do not need H-bridge (because it takes the Pololu)
No potentiometers or if I need to take the Pololu
Also imagine that I need a power supply (either a recommendation would come), heatsinks and fans for cards.
The part of xsim still far, you may need help when the time but now I have to buy the components or not I start ever. jajajaj
Thanks for the help.

Hello Bruno1968!

Good project!
- In any cases, you will need potentiometers to let the JRK "reading" the motor position! it's mandatory
A board + a pot will "convert" your simple motor into a "servo-motor" ;-)

- For your motors, the major specification is torque (N.m)!
12 N.m is minimum for a 2 DOF supported onto a ball joint
In your case, you will have to find what is described in 3DOF topics.

Speed is as well important: you will need a gear train to reduce it!

- for power supply, you can rely on Power Supply Unit of Server: have a look in my signature's post.
sometime, a car battery in parallel help to cope with surge pics.
