Awesome site also need help starting ;)

Hi there. My names paul and just wanted to intro myself to everyone. Im an electronics engineer by trade and this site and what you fellas create is awesome. Now for the real bit. i am trying to build my son a race car simulator. he is very good at kart racing but i cannot afford the track time so ive decided to build a simulator to get him on the right track (pardon the pun lol) Anyways i have a seat gamer chair i have placed on a metal uni strutt base. im wondering is it possible to get my logitech steering wheel and pedals to tell some form of 4 way piston set under the chair to tilt? I am also hoping to mimmick the rumble effect in the steering wheel to another rumble pack fitted to the undrrside of chair.(need to source this also)

Many thanks for reading guys.

Do you have a design in mind? a 2DOF would be a cheap start.
Draw some sketches, and we can help.

Hi i will sketch somr bits up. im hoping to mount my gaming chair on a square unit strutt base. from here was hoping to fix 4 pistons that will mimmick the analog inputs from my logitech controller (brake.excellerate.steer left and steer right)
I only want to tilt the seat slightly(not as aggressive as most sims) and im also hoping to hardwire link the rumble pack inside the controller to some form of rumble pack or seat kicker ill mount on the chair.

Cheers for the help ;)

What about a frame this size? For a seat mover
Image Image Image

Base is 600mm x 600mm, top is 500mm x 500mm , height of the sim minus seat is 330mm, stick a seat on and you are away.
You could attach a bass shaker somewhere.

I built it custom as required for a customer. I can build sims to order within reason , time frame and price.
He specified measurements and his weight and height and I worked with that.
It uses 2 x Pololu JRKS control cards, and 2 x dayton big worm gear motors, single turn pots for feedback. 2 x 12v 30 amps power supplies.
It runs with the x-sim software via simple USO commands, so it reads motion out of the game and reacts to that.
It will not receive commands from your logitech kit. The sim is NOT set up to get motion from a wheel and pedals. And no , I am not planning to set it up to do so.
Cheers, David.
