Extractor issues

Postby firstinflight » Thu 21. May 2015, 14:19

I followed the steps in the video tutorial and other manuals provided.
I was able to download and install the software.
Here are some issues I have -

a) The extractor.exe wont run on an Win XP machine. Is the minimum needed a Win7 or Win8 PC?

b) I did install temporarily on a Win 7 machine. But Extractor would not connect to server - it would say that Ping was not detecting the server.
I then discovered that my internet service provider does not allow Port 0 to be opened.
I then used my phone hotspot and was able to successfully connect - but that is a temporary fix.
Does this mean that I will not be able to use X-Sim at all because I am unable to open Port 0?

c) After successfully running on my laptop and connecting to X-Sim server, I ran the game wizard. It would NOT detect X-Plane. Tried to look for that manual addition option in 'Heuristic Game Wizard' - but in my case, I don't see that option at all. It only gives me the button to auto-detect. Auto-detect does not find X-Plane (even though it is on my hard-drive).
I look for the option to provide it with the path to X-Plane, but I only have Skip Game and Quit.

How do I add X-Plane to the list on the left side manually?

Thanks in advance.

a.) no it runs here on XP, use latest updates and IE, else go with 7
b.)Yes, you are not able to use the free edition with community sharing
c.) that is true, X-Plane need a manual setup by adding the executable and plugin (buttom button in the wizard), then enable the needed checkboxes in the game
