OK, think about what sort of design frame you may like.
Have a look through the motion projects to get ideas.

As for motors, forget wipers and go big 12v 180-200watt worm gear motors from ebay like the dayton. Look up Floriskes post for this. They are strong , powerful and already earth isolated.

For control , Use one of these per motor http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1393 they are h-bridge, controller in one. And they handle 30 amps continuous, not just peak. 7 wires, one usb cable, NO CODE TO WRITE, and I can advise BASE settings in PID to get you going. Put a heatsink on the big chip with a fan to cool it.

That is the sheer basics, you need to either sketch a frame or copy another members design .
Cheers, David.

Press the top button: Project gallery.
On the left side press "motion simulator project in progress" and find your favour.
Then press the interface button and find your favour.
Then read the manual for more interface informations and how it works.
If a answer is correct or did help you for a solution, please use the solve button.

first off all decide two things:

* usage: Race sim or Fly sim (if you choose race, it has been said that the best option is a seat mover or a flex type) if you want to fly (sound like drugs) try a joyrider)

* construction: do you have access to a metal work shop or not? (use pvc or metal)

* electronics: are you an electronic savy guy? or not, if not, use pololus, if you know about electronics you have some other options maybe cheaper

* ** give yourself the right to commit some mistakes and consider that many of the guys around here has made more than one sim... because of the fun and the things you learn in the way... so you will want to get better the next time.

have fun

# 1 BUDGET ( $$$ )
^--------- is the most important thing to consider when "starting".
After you know how much you can afford to spend, then you can move on to...

#2 Experience...
Depending how much or how little you have will change #1 & #3 incredibly.

#3 Time....
How much of this you have or willing to spend will change #1 & #2.

#4 Commitment
How much of this you have will affect #1 #2 #3.

#5 Read this forum from top to bottom, inside and out. Read the manual and tutorials, and watch every video you can.
Repeat step 5 as long as it takes to increase #2 until you feel comfortable with #1 + #2 + #3 + #4

#6 Start spending #1 utilizing all of your #2 and making the most out of #3 and never run out of #4.
You should know what questions to ask and where to ask them by the time you reach this step.

If you follow this procedure you will have success!

If you have too much deficiency in any of these steps, the rest of the steps can become unsustainable and
difficult to achieve your end goal.

Good luck & have fun with your future new sim :D
