Guys,

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I am still confused about the height of the seat, universal joint etc.

In reply to a question, Floriske said an an older thread -

Whats the height between the base and the bottom point of the pivot?
I have done a lot of frames, from 140mm to 400mm high in frame height.

The chairs base, the moving base or the compete sim's base?
The first is approx. 30cm, the second approx 7,5cm and the latter approx 25cm.

Sorry to be so thick, but could you clarify the above measurements? I am assuming the bottom point of the pivot is the lower universal joint. If I understand it right, the height between this joint and the chairs base is 30cm and the height between this joint and the complete sim's base is 25cm, giving around 55cm from the sim base to the chair base in total. This is quite a bit higher than 40cm. I am not sure what the moving base is. Is this the base on which the seat slides?

Hi Mate
Great simulator. I'm using elements of a few projects in my sim, including some of yours. I'm interested how you attached the control arm hardware to the upper platform without the need of any of the said hardware protruding out the top of the platform. I can't quite see it from the pics. Is it a screw eyelet? If so, I can't see how that would be strong enough.. I hope you don't mind still getting Q's from this forum after you completed and sold your sim..
Cheers

Hi Floriske.

Great project, very simple and clean.

What's the thickness of those 2 steel plates?
Also, what kind of screw element do you use to fixed to rod to top wood plate? (can you point to an image/ebay?)

Cheers
