Here is a sketch of the articulated pneumatic mounts I used to attach the drive to the base

Here I have shown the general geometry and distances relating to pivot point and drive connections between base and platform.

Managed to persuade my wife to video me testing a new math setup

Might be time to remove the 25% limiter from the scn6's to maximise longitudinal G and see what 150mm of travel feels like. Im only using about 100mm at the moment.

First job on my electrics was to build a housing for the usb/rs485 converters. I used up an old psu case and some old 3 pin xlr chassis mounting sockets as an isolate point.

I then fitted the converters, drive cards and soldered everything up

You will notice that the drive cards are very close to each other in my first attempt. This was a mistake I made and you will see that they are now sited outside the psu case and very well spaced indeed. They get very warm very quick if too close to each other but fortunately I spotted this before any damage was caused. Beware if like me you like to tightly package things. It does tell you in the user manual to space them carefully but unfortunately I missed it. It pays to read twice all the documentation available before building stuff. Here is how they are *

I used an 18 core YY 0.75mm2 multicore cable between the drive enclosure and PSU and 4x 3 pin xlr male plugs.
I used a 3x core YY 1.5mm2 for the ac mains side

First job for my psu was to terminate the multicore, install the 4 fuse carriers, the e-stop relay, here I also made my connections for integrating the zener diodes and resistors into the circuit. I repositioned the 3a and 10a thermal trips to the side too.
2818
I fitted a switch on the ac side with illumination and also a switch on the dc side. I read somewhere about spikes on startup so thought I'd add this switch for added safety. Buried inside this case is a 7.5a 24v switchmode PSU.

it's for testing purposes obviously, any longer drive would require doctors help :)
