Hi soraz.

Nice sim!
What are the dimensions and thickness of those steel plates you're using (that are soldered to the ujoint)?

Cheers

hi johnnyfive,
the thickness is 5 mm, the dimensions 400x400 mm and are soldered to the ujoint .

i start for dimensions from width of aluminum profile under seat.

Hi,
nice work and thanks for sharing. Looks really good.
What dimensions of Aluminium profile are u using? I've build my sim out of wood and maybe build it with alu profile again. I think about using 40x40mm.

Hi soraz.

Have you ever had any issues reading from the pots in analog pins A4 and A5?
I am yet to understand what happened, but these 2 ports started behaving strangely: Whenever one pot changes it affects the value read on the other pin significatively, even if that other pot doesn't move. This happened with 3 different Arduinos after some use.

Any clues?

short answer : re-check wire, be sure to have a good +5Vcc for pots and arduino, check motor isolation like reported in post :
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=1103#p9337

detailed answer :
- Arduino UNO R3
- Monster Moto Shield
- if pcbs are not stacked
Arduino .../... Monster
.GND .../... GND pin
...5V .../... 5V
pin 4 .../... pin 4
pin 5 .../... pin 5
pin 6 .../... pin 6
pin 7 .../... pin 7
pin 8 .../... pin 8
pin 9 .../... pin 9

- 12V power supply to monster (+12Vcc to +Monster and 0Vcc to -Monster)
- 2x 10k-100K linear pots (prefer CERMET type) (A5=left, A4 right)
23042303
- for my +5Vcc of pots have connect +5V on monster/arduino connected only via USB to pc; in some posts you can read to prefer attach to different power
- check wiper motor isolation (viewtopic.php?f=37&t=1103#p9337)
- Left Motor power attached in A1-B1 of Monster
- Right Motor power attached in A2-B2 of Monster
- my arduino code from first post or from racingmat project
- attach USB of Arduino to PC
- move about centre/middle position motors and pots (i have +2.5V on middle pin)
- power on 12V power supply
- now motor move/stay in middle position
- can test with arduino serial monitor

I'm available for extra help. regards.

soraz,

I've made some tests and I think I found the issue. I have an home made circuit (built on a perf board), where pot lines connect, that seems to be causing bad electrical conductance, due to too large screw cable holders. I'll confirm and fix this. Hope to share the details soon.

Thank you very much for your effort explaining this.

Cheers

published a new code version to improve motor movement/performance delaying refresh of dashboard.

- change uso command for gear value sended in 16bit binary like speed and motor.
- check speed value for problem with richard burns rally in reverse.

best regards
