X-sim - Arduino - Motomonster

Postby arne » Thu 25. Sep 2014, 13:50

Hi,

I need to do a project for school, so I’ve chosen this subject.
I’ve searched many days for a good subject, until an uncle said that I should make a simulator.
I thought it was a good idea, so I started looking for it.
I ended up on this site and now I’ve started with my own project, based on this viewtopic.php?t=1617.
The teacher said that it had to be safer.
The simulator will be adjustable in length.
So smaller children can also play with this.

I’ve looked on ebay, and there is everything much cheaper. There, I will buy almost everything.
Meanwhile, I bought this:

- Monster moto shield €14,40:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/221498097224?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

-Arduino €6,69:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/201110335059?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

-Heatsink €1,10:

Arduino cable (It's same as for a printer) €2,17:

Potentiometer 2x€7 (shipping exl):

HP Server DPS-600PB €20 (shipping exl):

motors €37 (shipping exl):

Mini DC cooling €2,27:

The HP Server DPS-600PB will not work if you don't connect some pins.
More information, you can find here: https://sites.google.com/site/tjinguyte ... ects/HP47A

After I connected the pins, I had 12.6V.
I also connect Pin 4 and 8 of the psu.
(The psu powered on the fan started spinning at 100% without it. So I shorted pins 4-8 to reduce the fan rpm to minimum. The fan still spins up when needed but stays quiet when the psu doesn't require cooling.)

ARDUINO

Download the program from this:

Load the code in to the arduino from viewtopic.php?t=1617
(You can also find more information in this topic about the arduino.)

Place a heat sink on the shield! I have also a ventilator on the shield, for maximum cooling.

hi,

I’m working on the design of the structure. The complete drawing will follow soon.

This is one piece from what I have for the moment:
3332

I have already connect my server.

3333

And I have also tested my motors.
3334

I am now waiting for my Monster moto.

I received my Monster Moto, so I can connect everything

3374

Also the potentiometers:
3372

And Pin 4 and 8 of the psu. (The psu powered on the fan started spinning at 100% without it.
So I shorted pins 4-8 to reduce the fan rpm to minimum. The fan still spins up when needed but stays quiet when the psu doesn't require cooling.)

I copied this program from RacingMat.

viewtopic.php?t=1617

The program works well, so I needn't to change anything for the moment.

I bought this: http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/32127879964 ... 1439.l2649.
This DC cooling fits perfectly on the Moto Monster.

Your blue motomonster clone is fine! good!
:)

Please don't paste the code, rather add a link
(if I have to correct it or improve it, it's better if old codes aren't scattered)
