Right now I'm designing an opto-isolation module that goes between the AMC and h-bridge, to separate the grounds and eliminate all noise problems that make the AMC board reset.

I would suggest to check the motors you are using to see if their power cables make any kind internal connection to their housing. Its very common especially for car wiper motors to use the motor housing body as ground. Since the h-bridge rotates the "ground" connection of the motor to Positive voltage too it may make path through your simulator metal frame to the other motor's ground and eventually cause short circuit and mosfets burn.

Hi Thanos,
Ok I will test.I saw in your Xsim blog a picture for a simple h-bridge.Is it the subject that you talk about in your last post ?
When I spoke to you that some magnetic phenomenom happen between boards (amc and dual h bridge) come not from my imagination.

I would like you to try this firmware and tell me if it stops restarting when you try to send data.

Hi Thanos,
It works great ! It happens just once during 5 minutes at least .
I tested stoping force profiler and restarts it works great without breaking.
I tested too using the slider with the mouse moving forwards backwards quickly and no problem.
Thank you I have some hope coming back!! :D
I will now try testing with your h-bridge before checking what you said below(ground problem with wishmotor)

Yes, I just finished the opto-isolator module:
154

And the new compact h-bridges:
153

The AMC1.6 is also redesigned for double-layer PCB as well... You will see it soon!

It's look great ! Impatient trying testing your new simpe bridge and opto isolator module ( my french pcb producer propose cheap prices) :P )
The dc geared motor I use is bigworm motor (not wiper motor) !I will give you the specifications. There is 12 volt motor.I tested it for the ground and it's OK(no connection between power motor wires with housing).
Does this kind of motor compatible with your old or new h-bridge ?

Thanos, you there man! Crazy too this new card, congratulations! :D :D :D
She will serve for our old H-bridge? Please say yes :!: :!: :-D

Can you please measure the resistance of the power cables of the motor with a multimeter? Just measure how much Ohm's is the motors coil! If the resistance is too low, that's may be the reason you get overheated and burned mosfets.

About the boards, can your french PCB producer handle double layer boards with through hole drillings? Especially the opto-link board has to be double layer as its too much complex to be done in single layer.

Motors up to 12v/25A are compatible with this new h-bridge design as long you use IRF3205 mosfets instead of the IRLZ44. The optolink board also takes care of some of the mosfet switching issues so there is no overheating on the slow start of the motor under load. There will be another project page about it as soon the design is double checked and tested.

The same connections are there, just different layout. I had to rearrange the pin order to simplify the design process. Other than that, yes.

Hi Thanos
I'm still waiting for an answer from my frecnh pcb handler.
I think that he can do double layer.the cost is : width x lenght(mm) / 850 + 0.035€ per hole.
So it should be : 49x53 / 850 + 118 x0.035 (I counted 118 holes) = 7,8 €
For a single layer : width x lenght / 1700 + 0.035€ per hole
You add 5 € for tools (from 2 pcb ordered)and shipping costs.

Like the amc 1.6 I can ship to you boards for free. You works for the simulators community , it's my contribution helping you to go forward with all your projects ! You always help us !

Here is the drill list for the optolink board:

Code: Select all
   3 x  0.50 mm
  88 x  0.78 mm
   4 x  0.91 mm
  24 x  1.12 mm
   2 x  3.50 mm
----------------
 121 drilings

You were close enough to counting... :D
49x63 / 850 + 121 x0.035 = 7.87€

Just something to ask, is the price includes silkscreen? Silkscreen in not only used for text but to also protect the upper layer lines.
