Re: SCN5 / SCN6 Software Thread

Hi.
I'd like to build a motion seat similar to Geko Systems' GS-Cobra, in which the backrest exerts a force on the driver's back in proportion to the forces to which the vehicle is subjected. I'm thinking of using two Dyadic SCN6 linear motors.
My question is: what software can I use to make the simulator telemetry (in my case: Assetto Corsa) drive NOT the position, BUT the force of the linear motors? Is the X-Sim3 software able to control the force of the SCN6 actuators instead of their position?
Thank you very much for any reply!

You can use ingame values for speed, acceleration and position per scn5 actuator.

Ok, I * But is there a way to operate on the FORCE of the actuator? In fact these actuators should have a 'force mode' which allows to directly modulate the force developed by the linear motor. Does anyone know a software capable of doing that? Or as an alternative: where can I find a guide to program the DCN6 with C++?
Thanks again!

hi gents, I have the latest version of the software running on windows 10 / 64 bit.
I’m trying to configure a racing rig with SCN6 and there is no SCN5Serial listed on the interfaces list in Convertor.
the SCN5Serial.dll file is present but my SCN actuators are not detected. the serial interfaces are present in Windows.
any ideas?
thanks in advance!

Did you all steps of the error help list here and in the SCN5 HW thread? You must provide the debug output, there is an step by step detection help if you enable debug in registry. There you find some info why your scn is rejected, maybe because of some SCN6 wrong setup.

After an update to 3.0.3.1 (because windows ruined my X-sim setup in the beginning of 2021), I also did not see an SCN5Serial in the interface settings. It worked before with older version 3.0.2.9, but with 3.0.3.1 the SCN5Serial did simply not show up in the interface settings, whatever I did (and I tried and read a lot). This weekend I tried again to solve it and I have it working again. I copied the "SCN5Serial.dll" from 3.0.2.9 in the new 3.0.3.1 install, and the SCN5Serial showed up so maybe you should try that.
