This will not work, not the rs485 part and not the ilk part.
RS485 are two wires, the ilk will get pull up (all three) and switched to GND in activation case.

Thank you sirnoname,
I am including here a revised version of the wiring diagram, and I hole I got it right *
The SCN5’s I have are serial numbers A2000882 F +G (PNP) and A2000883 F +G (PNP).
The wiring id configured as (four pin terminal connected to SCN5):
1 . RED
2- WHITE
3. BLACK
4. GREEN

The JRS terminal was modified and only pins 1, 2 and 8 are wired. The harness to the JRS was shrink wrapped and only wires red, black, and grey are connected to a four terminal connector.
1. RED
2. BLACK
8. GREY

As written, you do need 2 wires for RS485, no GND.
The switch has do pull down the 24V from ILK to GND.

Thank you again for your prompt answer and patience. I did the correction, eliminating the ground from the RS485. Hopefully this will be right *
What power should the 27V zener be? There are several options, and if possible, I would like to select the correct wattage.
By the way, I am planning to become a supporter this coming July. I have used the forum a lot and I think it is only fair that I should contribute to the site.

My motion seemed to die tonight :(

I was playing with other software (which I have done before) and went back to x-sim3 and it didn't recognise that my actuators were plugged in.
I tried a few things and even tried using them on my game machine, I usually use 2 PC network system, still nothing. I have tested kill switch and it shows 24v across terminals with switch up and 0v with switch down so I assume that's okay?
I can unplug and replug actuators and I hear them 'alive'. I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and updated to latest FTDI..

I'm now at a loss. I dont see a way to test them outside of x-sim and I cant do that as it cannot see them :s

Did I miss something obvious?

I looked through the software thread and tried Free Serial Port Monitor but when I run it just says in both Read and Write requests Port Opened (PID 3796), Port Closed

Enable debug mode.
Other software can reprogram the SCN to a unknown mode. Use factory default.
Use latest software.

I used debug mode and it just showed com ports found but no other messages before converter opens.

All I get is 2 boxes pop up, one after the other
Com port 3 found
Com port 4 found
No other messages and then converter is open.

I'm at work now but I'm sure I'm using 3.0.1.14
